Herbert heads into the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates too far out of contention to win the season-long race, but will eye a strong finish for a slice of the $12,322,000 prize pool.
Out of the star-studded field, six players have gained enough points to be in contention to win the race - Collin Morikiawa, Billy Horschel, Tyrrell Hatton, Australian Min Woo Lee, Matt Fitzpatrick and Paul Casey are all in the running.
Herbert tees up in round one off the first on Thursday night alongside Laurie Canter at 6.10PM.
The event marks Herbert's return to the European circuit after spending majority of the year competing in the United States on the PGA circuit where he successfully acquired a full-tour card for 2021/22.
