City of Greater Bendigo parks and open space manager Chris Mitchell said this year due to COVID-19 restrictions the city was again forced to cancel the very popular annual Tulip Dig in the Conservatory Gardens.
"Although we had to cancel the tulip dig the city has been pleased to work with PepperGreen Farm to make the bulbs available for sale to the general community," he said.
"PepperGreen Farm is a social enterprise of Access Australia Group and their staff have done all the hard work of cleaning and bagging the tulip bulbs to sell to the public.
"While the city is looking forward to holding the annual tulip dig at the ConservatoryGardens in 2022 it's great to have worked with PepperGreen Farm to provide this opportunity for the public to purchase the bulbs from this year's stunning display."
PepperGreen Farm provides over 100 people with disability skills development, training and employment across a range of areas including microbusiness, horticulture, retail, tourism, hospitality and creative manufacturing.
They are a not-for-profit organisation, with no shareholders, which means any profits are invested back into the community through innovative programs.
The tulip bulbs will go on sale from 9am Thursday November 18, 2021 with a limit of 10 bags per person.
