Greater Bendigo's active COVID-19 case numbers have dropped below 200 for the first time in more than three weeks.

The municipality recorded 174 active cases on Monday, including 11 new ones added to the tally.

That is a drop from the 233 the Department of Health had tallied for the day before.

Of the new cases, five were for people in the 3550 postcode, one in Kangaroo Flat's 3555, three in Eaglehawk's 3556.

Others were found in the rural 3551 postcode.

In the wider region, the Mount Alexander Shire recorded three new cases, the Macedon Ranges one and Campaspe Shire nine.

The Loddon Shire, Central Goldfields Shire and Gannawarra recorded zero new cases.

THE COVID-19 testing site at the Bendigo Showgrounds is set to close from November 16.

A Bendigo Health spokesperson said the McLaren Street clinic would continue to operate.

"Drive-through and walk-in testing will be available at McLaren Street only, open between 10am and 5.30pm daily," they said.

"Healthcare workers, truck drivers and pre-operation tests will be given priority at the walk-in clinic. Please identify yourselves to security staff.

"Our clinic can do COVID-19 tests for domestic travel purposes. For international travel you must see you GP."

VICTORIA recorded 797 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.

It was another fall in new cases following the 870 recorded the day before.

New daily case numbers have now been less than 1000 for the past three days.

Sadly, there were eight deaths in the latest numbers.

Another 394 people are in hospital, 72 of whom are in intensive care and 44 are on ventilators.

Greater Bendigo recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases in Department of Health figures released yesterday.

That included one case in the city centre's 3550 postcode, one in Kangaroo Flat's 3555 and four in the regional 3551.

Three extra cases were found in the 3570 postcode, which includes areas like Drummartin.

The municipality's total active cases remained the same as the previous day at 233, according to the Department of Health data.

The region has also reached the 95 per cent fully vaccinated milestone, an achievement that yesterday drew praise from premier Daniel Andrews.

Elsewhere in the region, the Campaspe Shire yesterday recorded another seven cases, Mount Alexander two and the Macedon Ranges five.

Zero new cases were recorded in the Loddon Shire, Central Goldfields and Gannawarra.

Since Monday, more than 48,104 test results have been received.

Yesterday, 5,030 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services. The total number of doses administered through state-run services is 4,771,734.

Victoria was notified of 860 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. All cases were locally acquired. The 10 Local Government Areas with the highest number of new cases are Casey, Wyndham, Greater Dandenong, Hume, Brimbank, Melton, Melbourne, Moreland, Stonnington and Whittlesea.

All locations containing new cases will be published today at Victorian COVID-19 data.

There are 17,518 active cases in Victoria. The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 105,484.

Sadly, the Department was notified yesterday of five deaths of people aged in their 70s, 80s and 80s. This brings the total number of deaths in Victoria since the pandemic began to 1,231.

48,104 COVID-19 tests were processed yesterday. The total number of tests performed in Victoria since the pandemic began is 14,205,134.

There are currently more than 77,380 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.
