The new paramedic team is dedicated to attending less-urgent emergency calls, freeing up more ambulances for the most critically ill patients.
Ambulance Victoria Loddon Mallee acting regional director Trevor Weston said MATS had been a major success after hitting the road in metropolitan Melbourne in September, responding to about 60 cases a day.
"This is exciting news for our paramedics in Bendigo and we expect to see similar benefits coming from our MATS crews as we are seeing in Melbourne," he said.
"With up to 15 crews on the road each day in metro, MATS crews have responded to 2,320 emergency incidents in their first month of operation.
"That is a lot of time saved for other paramedic crews to respond to the most critical cases, so it's good to see this benefit being extended to the regions."
Across Victoria, the MATS service is made up of 22 vehicles and 165 dedicated staff providing the very best response to Code 2 and 3 patients.
These crews operate from 9am to 11pm every day.

Paramedics Amber Tuckerman and Mickey Willems were among the first crew to use the MATS vehicles in Eaglehawk on Monday.
"It's a really exciting time for Bendigo and the surrounding regions," Ms Tuckerman said.
"It's definitely going to help our emergency crews to respond to more lights and sirens jobs and hopefully free them up a little bit more.
"Last month when you were working in a crew you would hear jobs go off and there was no crew to attend, so this will definitely take a load off."
Ms Tuckerman said it would also allow experience paramedics to spend more time teaching the younger crew members and paramedic students that work at the branch.
"I think just being able to mentor a graduate through their shifts in a less-intense environment will be really exciting," she said.
"Just being able to spend more time with them and being able to build their confidence and communication skills is really important because they've missed out on those fundamentals up until now."
Mr Weston said paramedics were working extremely hard to manage the increasing demand while prioritising care to the sickest Victorians.
"MATS teams make a real difference ensuring less-urgent calls get the high expertise and care that the community expects while having a positive impact on workload pressures being experienced by paramedics," he said.
"MATS teams have also responded to several time-critical cases where they have been the closest available unit, ensuring patients who are in immediate life-threatening situations receive urgent care."
He said the unique service partnered paramedic recruits with experienced paramedics.
"This gives an opportunity for our senior paramedics to impart invaluable knowledge gained through their years of experience to their new colleagues," Mr Weston said.
"At the same time, it provides an enriching on-the-job educational experience and additional pathway for new paramedics."
The MATS teams are one of the first steps in Ambulance Victoria's plan to improve ambulance performance and deliver even better care to patients across the state.
"MATS crews are being rolled out as part of a $759 million state government investment for more paramedics, more triage care and support staff for Ambulance Victoria, as well as targeted funding to improve flow in our busy emergency departments," Mr Weston said.
"On top of MATS, we are also recruiting 56 on-road paramedics to deliver additional services in rural Victoria."
Other MATS crews will be based in Geelong, Belmont, Traralgon, Wonthaggi, Shepparton and Wendouree.
