Three of the five matches were washed out, while Bendigo and Sandhurst opened their campaigns with strong wins.
Bendigo's 68-run win over West Bendigo was set up by a brilliant innings from Amy Ryan.
The Bendigo skipper blasted a career-best 52 from 36 balls, including two sixes and six fours.
Amy Ryan's 55-run stand with Allira James (20) and 51-run partnership with Holly Ryan (13) lifted the Goers to a total of 137.
The Redbacks' bowlers shared the wickets with five single wicket-takers.
In reply, West Bendigo battled hard with the bat, but struggled to gain momentum against a tight Bendigo attack.
Madison Cleeland (20 not out) and Sophie O'Connell (10 not out) were the only batters to reach double figures in their side's total of 7-69 off 25 overs.
James (2-6) and Letesha Bawden (2-2) were the most successful bowlers in an impressive team performance with the ball.
Sandhurst cruised to a 10-wicket win over California Gully.
The California Gully innings lasted just 11.1 overs as the Dragons dismissed the home side for 43.
Amanda O'Neill claimed 3-7 and Maree Pearce 2-1, while the Cobras weren't helped by two run outs early in their innings.
Crystal West top-scored for California Gully with 21.
Sandhurst took seven overs to seal the points after openers Kate Shallard (25 not out) and Jackie Crawford had few troubles with the willow.
The other three matches were washed out.
Strathfieldsaye were 3-70 off 13.1 overs against Strathdale-Maristians Blue before rain set in.
Ella Moratti (16) was the top scorer for the Jets, while Bella Eddy (1-11) and Jordyn Demeo (1-11) were the pick of the Suns' bowlers.
Little play was possible in the Strathdale-Maristians (1-11) versus Kangaroo Flat game and the Golden Square (0-8) versus Bendigo Goers clash.
