A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested overnight after a break-in at the Eaglehawk Aldi supermarket.

Bendigo Police Acting Sergeant Peter Clarke said it was unclear how the offender gained access to the store.

"The man forced entry into Aldi and proceeded to put items into a bag," he said.
Witnesses called in the incident to triple zero and police soon located the offender inside, where he was subsequently arrested.
It is unclear how much damage was done to the store.
Acting Sergeant Clarke said the offender was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
The offender was later bailed and is due to appear in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court at a later date.
