PGA Tour card sorted and his first victory on the circuit is now complete after winning last week's Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Next is one that players from all walks of life dream about, travelling down Magnolia Lane to arguably one of the most sacred sites in the golfing world, Augusta National.
The win at Bermuda secured Herbert a spot in the 2022 Masters, another of the 25-year-old's lifelong dreams.
The iconic course designed by Bobby Jones and Alister McKenzie is home to some of golf's biggest moments, including Tiger Woods' 2019 victory and fellow Australian Adam Scott's first major win in 2013.
It's a course Herbert has never played, but before he starts his campaign for the green jacket in 2022, he plans to learn all he can about the course.
"I want to go there early when there's no stands or anything up and just really take in Augusta," he said.
"It's going to be a pretty special place and to have everything with the tournament as well as Augusta hit you in one week, I think that can be pretty daunting.
"I want to go there a little earlier and take it all in, look around and enjoy where I am."
The 2022 Masters is scheduled to be held from April 4-10 and will attract the world's best, including defending champion Hideki Matsuyama.
Even though it's still months away, Herbert is already brainstorming exactly how he will approach his Augusta debut.
"It's a massive local knowledge golf course," he said.
"You're going to need to play it a lot of times to see different breaks, different misses to different flags and everything like that.
"More times I can get on there to play and prepare will be helpful.
"Not playing the week before, extra practice rounds, just even from a point of being mentally fresh as majors are tough weeks."
