THE Macedon Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating a spate of burglaries targeting businesses across Gisborne.

Detective Sergeant Ivan Bobetic said a Pilates studio in Gisborne was targeted on October 28 about 3am.
More crime news:
He said offenders forced their way through the rear door of the property and stole money and some Pilates equipment.
"Offenders gained access to the back of the property and forced entry," he said.
Thieves also targeted a Gisborne newsagency this week.
Detective Sergeant Bobetic said overnight on October 31 to November 1, offenders broke a window to gain access to the business.

He said the offenders stole a money tin.
It is unclear if the two burglaries are linked.
Detective Sergeant Bobetic said police were now appealing to community members who may have any information on the crimes.
