BENDIGO residents are continuing to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated, with more than 94 per cent of those eligible for a jab having had at least one dose of the vaccine.

Federal government data released late Monday shows 71 per cent of eligible residents aged 15 and over in the Bendigo statistical region had received both jabs.
Elsewhere, 95 per cent of Ballarat residents have had at least one jab and 70.6 per cent are fully vaccinated; in Warrnambool 95 per cent of residents have had one vaccination and 79.8 per cent are fully vaccinated, and in Shepparton 95 per cent have had one dose of vaccine and 69.4 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Bendigo Health chief executive Peter Faulkner congratulated the region for reaching the 70 per cent double dose milestone.
"The vaccination rates for Bendigo and central Victoria are great and people need to be congratulated for those," he said.
"We know that it makes a difference and that's why we will see more easing of restrictions coming on Friday and more very soon after.
"I want to congratulate people and thank people for that outcome."

Last week, Bendigo reached the 70 per cent double dose milestone, Bendigo resident Sam Garland's vaccination helped tip the region over the mark.
"I wanted to do my part to protect my community and myself," he said.
"It's definitely reassuring to see so many people get vaccinated in the community and it's great to see everyone doing their bit.

The 26-year-old said everyone he knew were keen to get the vaccine and encouraged more young people to consider getting vaccinated.
On Thursday, Victoria will get the 70 per cent double dose target for people aged over 15.
Hitting this milestone state-wide will mean visitors will be allowed into homes, schools will fully reopen and increased dining at hospitality and entertainment venues.
