The annual event encourages residents to make and save money by selling and buying pre-loved items, reducing waste and reusing items in the process.
More news:
There will be live tutorials held before the trail gets underway to help people learn the tricks to selling items online.
City of Greater Bendigo manager resource recovery and education Brooke Pearce said hosting an online garage sale was a great way to make your unwanted items work in your favour.
"The Garage Sale Trail is an opportunity to remind residents about the need to re-use or recycle their unwanted items wherever possible and also make a few dollars in the process," she said.
"We live in a consumer-driven society, but we often outgrow or no longer need much of what we buy, so the Garage Sale Trail is one way to offload some of those items."
Bendigo has joined the initiative to help residents de-clutter their homes and help raise awareness of the importance of re-using items and keeping unwanted items out of landfill.
In 2020 an estimated 400,000 Australians got involved in the initiative by either selling items at a garage sale or shopping the trail for bargains and unique finds.
Other news:
Ms Pearce said this was an initiative that encouraged people to clear out their cupboards, the shed or the kid's toy box and earn some dollars.
"It's great because these items will all go to a new home and be reused. It's also a great way to be part of the circular economy," she said.
Registrations are now open for the community to be involved online, over two weekends this November 13-14 and 20-21.
You can register your online event at here, where you will find a list of virtual garage sales taking place in Greater Bendigo.
