The club has set a Sunday November 14 date for its return event which will be its first ever gravel race held at Harcourt North.
The 46.6km track features hilly terrain with picturesque views of Mt Alexander and Sutton Grange.
The club decided to host a gravel race due to the recent increased popularity of the style of race, which will be used by UCI frequently throughout 2022, in addition to ease of compliance with local council in terms of gaining event permits.
Elite men and women will race two laps of the circuit at approximately 76km in length and 1400m of climbing with prize pools of $300 for first, $200 for second and $100 for bronze.
Men (40+) will race over two laps while then women (40+) will race over one lap with divisions prize pools of $200 for first, $100 for silver and $50 for bronze.
The race will also have a sports division to be raced over one lap with E-Bikes permitted.
There will be plenty of entertainment aside from the racing with an afternoon of festivities planned at the Harcourt North Hall which includes food and drinks.
Entries for the BDCC's inaugural Harcourt North Gravel Classic open on Friday October 15 at $20 per rider.
It has been a tough few months for the BDCC as it had to cancel several events due to ongoing restrictions.
Looking ahead, a main goal is to hold club championships in December, on the same circuit used for the recent 2021 Merv Dean Memorial Tour.
