The four-year-old gelding, trained at Bendigo by Brent Stanley, for one of the few occasions in his career excelled on good ground to finish over the top of his rivals and claim a convincing benchmark 64 victory over 1009m.
It was the Written Tycoon gelding's third career win in 13 starts, but his first on a good track.
Both his previous wins, including on debut at Traralgon last November, were on either soft or heavy tracks.
His previous start win at Echuca was on a heavy 9.
Before Monday, El Salto had raced on a good surface six times for a single placing at Flemington last January.
Strapper and stable spokesperson Pat Cannon indicated the stable would be rapt to see the four-year-old back up his impressive win from earlier in the month.
"(It was) similar to last start - the same position in the run and the same ride - it was a beautiful ride by Paddy (Patrick Moloney) and the same result, but the ground was a little firmer," he said.
"(He's) a good horse and in-form and the team has done a good job. Brent will be really pleased with that."
Moloney, who had only the one ride at Echuca for a win on El Salto, said the long drive from Melbourne had been worth it.
"I was hoping for a bit of rain, but obviously we avoided all of it - the track's pretty firm, but it was good to see him get the job done on top of the firm track," said the 27-year-old, who also rode the gelding at his last start and boasts a perfect two-from-two record on the Stanley-trained galloper.
"Last start, (the track) was bottomless and although I think he's better with a bit of give in the track ... I reckon he lets down better ... but it was good to see him get the job done.
"He's always shown a lot early doors. I think Brent had a pretty high opinion of him and he still does. He was just racing the wrong way and doing too much at the top end in the first half of his races and not finishing off.
"Last start, Brent was pretty adamant - he's been doing a lot of re-training with him - to take the sit because it gives him a turn of foot and we've been able to manufacture that his last two starts and he's got the job done."
El Salto boosted his career record to three wins and one placing from 13 starts for $95,575 in prizemoney.
