The Nolan Street business was among those forced to close after the outbreak arrived in Bendigo in recent weeks.
Owner Mick Kimpton closed on Wednesday, shortly after an alert was issued for a potential exposure six days earlier.
"I actually found out through a friend that we had been listed," he said.
"We shut the shop within 30 minutes."
More news:
Yet the business was able to open on Friday night and did a brisk trade over the weekend after McMahon Property Services deep cleaned the site at short notice.
No staff members tested positive.
Mr Kimpton said that until he got the email allowing him to reopen he had gone through thousands of scenarios in his head.
He thanked his family, staff and his deep cleaners for their help.
"The community's been really good," Mr Kimpton said.
