Hundreds of City of Greater Bendigo staff members will be among the Victorians required to be vaccinated under the state governments new vacine mandate.
CoGB chief executive Craig Niemann said a range of essential and authorised council workers will need to complete mandatory vaccination requirements.
He said Bendigo's strong vaccination rate meant a number of staff could have already started their vaccinations or be fully vaccinated.
"The City of Greater Bendigo delivers a range of essential services, with staff in these roles now needing to complete mandatory vaccination requirements in line with the Chief Health Officer orders," he said.
"Reading the essential service list, there will be several hundred staff over the coming weeks who will need to show evidence of their vaccination status.
"Given the strong vaccination rate locally, it is expected the majority of staff will have either started their vaccinations or already be fully vaccinated, but the dates announced today provide time for anyone yet to do so to get organised."
Mr Niemann said the reduction of time between first and second doses for Pfizer will help in allowing people to be vaccinated quicker.
"The announcement that there is choice of vaccine for those over 60 will hopefully encourage additional take up," he said.
"The City will continue to work to the restrictions of the day as announced by the State Government."
4.35pm
A NEW exposure site has been recorded in Gisborne.
The Coles on Robertson Street and Aitken Street has been listed as a tier two site between 5pm and 6pm on September 26.
Anyone visited the supermarket during those times should urgently get tested, then isolate until confirmation of a negative result.

PREMIER Daniel Andrews says about 1.25 million authorised workers will be affected by a new vaccine mandate that will take effect in two weeks.
Anyone allowed to leave their homes for work will need to have their first jab, if they have not had it already.
"We think a whole bunch of those people have already had a first dose. And some will have had a second dose," Mr Andrews said.
"It's about protecting the freedoms that we're all trying to deliver and achieve, when we get to 70 per cent double dose, and 80 per cent double dose."
12.15pm
REGIONAL Victoria has recorded another 62 cases.
Authorities are yet to say whether any of those cases are in central Victoria.
COVID response deputy secretary Naomi Bromley said some areas on the region's border had seen high numbers of cases, including in Bacchus Marsh where the virus continued to seep out of Metropolitan areas.
The Moorabool Shire south of Daylesford is going into a snap seven day lockdown from midnight after another six cases yesterday.
An extra 12 cases were found in the Mitchell Shire south of Heathcote, which remains in lockdown.
Shepparton also had 12 cases.

VICTORIA is tightening rules about who must be vaccinated if they want to work in metropolitan and regional areas.
Every worker not currently required to work from home will need at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine if they want to keep working within two weeks.
They will need to have their second jab by 26 November.
Premier Daniel Andrews said separate mandates for those like teachers and construction workers would not change.
"This is picking up all of those who were not specifically the subject of a vaccine mandate and making sure that they play their part in stopping the spread of this virus," he said.
The state will also kick off a Moderna jab blitz in its state vaccine hubs.
It comes as the state tries to use up any doses that community pharmacies might not be ready to deploy and that could go off otherwise.
The government will also reopen the metropolitan construction sector next Tuesday with a series of conditions.
Government minister Jacinta Allan said new rules would apply to workers moving between metropolitan and regional areas.
Some workers who have had their first vaccine dose will be able to move between both those parts of the state, she said.
"That's for large-scale construction and the state critical projects provided they also embark on an additional testing regime," Ms Allan said.
"That includes surveillance testing and having a test at least twice a week to prove that they remain COVID free."
Fully vaccinated workers will have more capacity to move around.
