A Department of Health spokesperson said details of new public exposure sites are added to the coronavirus website once they are confirmed.
The Department of Health also manages exposure sites that it does not publish online, particularly if these sites represent very low risk exposures, or if they have comprehensive record keeping and contact tracing measures in place and are not attended by members of the public.
"Castlemaine Health is being managed as a tier 2 exposure site after a positive contractor attended," the spokesperson said.
"Testing is underway and there has been no exposure within aged care buildings. Contract tracers continue to investigate the source of this case and any links to other cases."
Earlier:
PART of the Castlemaine hospital Cornish Street site has been identified as a tier two exposure site after a person visiting the hospital's main entrance and vaccination clinic tested positive for COVID-19.
The person had no face-to-face contact with Castlemaine Health patients or residents and is isolating at home.
The tier two exposure site is for a period on Monday, September 27, from 8.27am - 10.07am and relates to the hospital's main entrance and vaccination clinic.
The hospital's aged care facilities are not part of the exposure site, and a deep clean of the relevant sections of the Castlemaine Hospital has been completed.
"You always dread this as a health service... but we've been able to contain this very quickly," Ms Race said.
Up to four of the affected staff have been re-classified as secondary contacts and have returned to work.
A pop-up testing clinic will operate at the Camp Reserve, Forest Street Castlemaine on Friday, October 1 from 9.30am - 12.30 pm.
