Hamilton was the sole Pioneers' player to earn an invite to the regional draft combine, which will be held at the La Trobe University Athletics Complex in Flora Hill.
A member of the AFL/AIS Academy, Hamilton only played four games for the Pioneers this year because of school football commitments in Melbourne and the COVID-19 restrictions.
Hamilton's endurance is a feature of his game. The midfielder/half-back has run a sub six-minute time for the 2km time-trial.
On Friday, the invited players from regional NAB League teams will be tested in a range of skills, including speed, leap, endurance and agility.
The AFL's traditional national draft combine won't be held this year because of COVID-19 travel restrictions.
All states are holding their own draft testing days.
"All of the results are filtered to the 18 AFL clubs,'' AFL Talent Ambassador Kevin Sheehan told SEN.
"In some states the recruiters will get to see the events, but in others it will be a closed shop."
Ballarat-based Greater Western Victoria Rebels leads the way with eight representatives at the draft combine, including former Maryborough Football Netball Club junior Kai Lohman.
