The women's national team, who are playing in Group B, made light work of the Philippines in the early hours of Wednesday morning in what was a 64-point thumping, final scores 120-54.
Bendigo Braves player and former WNBL Spirit star Abbey Wehrung, who was on court for 14 minutes, scored four points, took four rebounds paired with two assists.
Keely Froling top-scored for the Opals with an impressive 19 points, 13 rebounds and two assists.
The Opals are now preparing for their final game of the group phase on Wednesday night, a match against China.
The clash marks the first time the teams have met since the Tokyo Olympics, where China secured a narrow two-point win over the Opals, 74-76.
Meanwhile, 2021-22 WNBL Spirit player Mary Goulding is also in action at the Asia Cup, playing with New Zealand.
On day two the Tall Ferns endured their second loss of the tournament in the way of a 12-point loss to Japan.
They are now out of the running for a shot at finals and will play their final match against India in hopes of securing third place within Group A.
The finals phase of the tournament commences on Thursday.
