THE MACEDON Ranges has recorded another case of COVID-19, the Victorian government has revealed.
No other central Victorian areas recorded new cases in the 24 hours to midnight, the state's COVID response deputy secretary Kate Matson said.
She said they were a person who works in Melbourne.
The government has today announced it is asking people currently locked down with the virus to log in to an app that could pave the way for returning overseas travellers are isolating.
The trial could help Australia's governments shift away from hotel quarantine, Health minister Martin Foley said.
"This app uses a downloaded picture from a smartphone, a selfie, to check in where you are meant to be when you are meant to be there," he said.
"It links back to location-based technology to confirm both the place you are and your identity at the time of the alert."
Mr Foley said that a software glitch that stopped 149 positive cases being published in daily totals on Sunday and Monday had been rectified.
These were due to a software update by a third-party vendor who supported one of our pathology providers. This meant that test results were not reported to the department's central system," he said.
This fortunately did not have an impact on either the people concerned getting the test results ... and more importantly, the advice from the pathology advises to both isolate and await further information."

VICTORIA has recorded a new record for daily case numbers for the current outbreak and reported that four people have died in the 24 hours to midnight.
Another 867 cases were added to the tally, making it the highest number of daily new cases in Victoria.
The Department of Health has also added an extra 149 cases to tallies that should have appeared on Sunday and Monday.
"Late yesterday, the department became aware that a number of COVID-19 test results were incorrectly recorded by a third-party software vendor supporting a private provider," it said in a tweet.
"These results included 9 cases reportable on 26 September and 140 cases reportable on 27 September."

Victoria also saw a slew of new exposure sites including several tier two sites in Gisborne, which were publicly listed on Monday night.
The department is telling people who attended Gisborne Central Shopping Centre's Subway eatery between 3pm and 4pm last Tuesday to get tested after it was visited by someone with COVID-19.
People should also get tested if they visited the town's Puma Service Station in Robertson Street the day before, between 6.30pm and 7.15pm
"Anyone who has visited [these locations] during these times should urgently get tested, then isolate until confirmation of a negative result," the department said.
"Continue to monitor for symptoms, get tested again if symptoms appear."
Also on Monday night, the Lake View Hotel reopened its doors after being forced to close when it was listed as a tier two exposure site.
Manager Leigh Evans said patrons were understanding and it was a relief to reopen.
"We got the call right at the start of the grand final and my heart sunk," he said.
The Bendigo Cup is also in negotiations to become one of the first major events in the region to take part in the vaccine economy trial.
The Bendigo Jockey Club hopes to have 1000 fully vaccinated people on track for its feature raceday on Wednesday, October 27.
"In addition to horse owners and sponsors, we'd give first priority to our members and their guests because every membership comes with an additional one or two guest passes,'' BJC chief executive Aaron Hearps said.
Bendigo residents are also being urged to maintain their vigilance and safety protocols after wasterwater detections found COVID-19 fragments in East Bendigo, Wellsford, Strathdale, Kennington, Strathfieldsaye and Junortoun between September 21 and 23.
