"It was great to interact with people coming past and saying they loved it," Ella said. "It brightened their day which was nice."
The pair were hoping to attend the grand final in Perth before coronavirus restrictions took away their chance.
"It is a shame, I had priority one tickets to the grand final and have given them to another Demons supporter in Perth, otherwise Ella and I would have gone," Kellie said.
"It's been a long, long time for Melbourne supporters, with more downs than ups. It's still hard to believe they're going to be in the grand final and I'm holding back on the fact we could win. We will just have to see how it turns out."
Kellie said the family would be happy with whoever won the last game of the season.
"We both respect each other's teams," she said. "It's one of those things where we would be happy to see either team win. That's been the general comments in the neighbourhood as well, they're both well deserving teams."
Ella was influenced by her auntie in choosing the Bulldogs but has a soft spot for her mum's team.
"I didn't expect the Doggies to make it to the grand final this year, so I was originally rooting for Melbourne during the finals because they were impressive all year," she said.
"I was influenced by my auntie but so glad I did choose them in the end. i can't imagine going for anyone else."
