The former Huntly assistant coach and key midfielder has been appointed coach of Calivil United in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League.
The Demons are coming off a 2-9 season in 2021, including two games where they failed to score a goal.
Daley replaces club stalwart Glen Scholtes as senior coach.
"When I started playing senior footy at Golden Square under Nick Carter...I learned a fair bit under him,'' Daley said.
"Coaching is something I've always wanted to do and this opportunity came up and it seemed like a good fit.
"I had a couple of meetings with a couple of different clubs and I was impressed with the way the Calivil boys spoke about footy.
"Obviously, they've been a pretty successful club in the past and they don't want to be stuck near the bottom of the ladder for long.
"We've spoken to a number of players about joining the club and we've had some really good interest.
"It's exciting and I'm looking forward to it."

Daley's long-time friend and team-mate at Golden Square and Huntly - Jacob Greenwood - has signed at Calivil United as assistant coach.
"Jacob won't get up and running for a little bit because he's coming back from an Achilles injury,'' Daley said.
"He's really keen and we're excited to get things on the move.
"Fifth place only won five games this year and one of them was by one point.
"We have plenty of work to do, but I don't think the gap from the bottom to fifth is that big."
An added attraction for Daley is the fact his father, Ross, is a premiership player with Calivil United.
"Dad was pretty rapt when I told him that I'd taken the coaching job,'' Daley said.
"A few of his good mates are from up that way still and he loved his time with the club.
"The club has a great feel to it, but we just need to do some work with the footy."
Jack's younger brother, Ben, will also make the move from Huntly to Calivil United.
