After the release on Sunday by the Victorian Government of the roadmap to opening up the State, Bendigo Basketball Association's Paul Gray Summer domestic season's original October 4 start date will be pushed back until at least late October to early November.

Within the roadmap it indicates that both competitive indoor and outdoor sport will be off limits until the state reaches the 70 per cent fully vaccinated goal for the 16-plus age group - which is scheduled to be achieved 26 October 2021.
"With a clearer roadmap for the path ahead, we need to prepare ourselves in the best way we can and work together to achieve our goals," Basketball Manager Sam Cartwright said.
"During COVID we've learnt that being able to adapt to changing guidelines is crucial."

Cartwright said once the green light does arrive that all competitions would be conducted as previously in the safest possible manner.
"We have been working relentlessly to ensure we are 100 per cent COVID-19 compliant and that our commencement of the Paul Gray Summer competition season strategies are safe and sound," he said.
"When everything is ready we will be set to execute our plan in the safest way possible, as safety is always our number one priority."
In the lead-up to the new season, the BBA will be working with the domestic clubs to keep them up to date with the current plan moving forward.
"We've been in this position many times now and during the week we will be speaking with all of the clubs, most of which have all their teams ready," Cartwright said.
"There's nothing more crucial than the grassroots level, whether it's our domestic competition, Aussie Hoops or Biddy Ball and we just want to see the kids back on the floor.
"In the meantime, BBA in conjunction with their Director of Athlete Development Joe Hurst are offering online engagement programs to keep the community involved.
"Engagement with our members is absolutely crucial as it will allow everyone to get back on the floor in the safest way possible."
