The one-off Spring edition of the program will see a bunch of activities and events taking place in Bendigo's parks and gardens.
The program sponsored by Fosterville Gold Mine will feature free events and activities throughout September and October including Active Kids, Tulip Tunes and Movies in the Park.
Major venues for the planned activities include the Garden for the Future at White Hills, the Queen Victoria Garden in Rosalind Park and the Fosterville Gold Tennis Centre.
City of Greater Bendigo Tourism and Major Events Manager Terry Karamaloudis said the Spring Edition was planned to give the community, particularly families, the chance to have some fun and relax in beautiful surroundings in a COVID-safe way.
"Summer in the Parks - Spring Edition is the perfect excuse to have some fun and enjoy our great outdoors when the tulips are blooming and the city looks so lovely this time of year," he said.
"We have put together a COVID-safe program that includes music in our beautiful parks and gardens, an exciting virtual tulip hunt using a mobile phone app and outdoor cinema events at garden for the future."
Mr Karamaloudis said they have also planned an active kids program featuring connect circus, sporting activities and roving characters during the school holidays.
"It's also an opportunity to support our local businesses, enjoy a lunch or grab a takeaway for a picnic in the park," he said.
"To keep everyone safe, people will need to book these free events to comply with health requirements and we do expect spaces to be filled quickly so don't miss out.
"Residents are advised to keep an eye on our Bendigo Tourism website for the latest updates as events may be subject to change due to inclement weather or changes to restrictions."
Mr Karamaloudis said the traditional Summer in the Parks program will return in December to host events during the warmer months (subject to COVID-19 health requirements).
