However, when he steps onto the first tee at this week's Fortinet Championship it marks his debut as a proper tour card holder.
Herbert starts the 2021-22 season this week at the event held in California at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
SPORT NEWS:
The tournament, formerly known as the Safeway Open, has been on the PGA Tour for 14 years and will see American Stewart Cink return to defend the championship.
The par-72, 7.1km PGA Hall of Fame member Johnny Miller designed course is located near the Napa River and features tree-lined fairways, water hazards and bunkers.
Herbert will take to the course in the early hours of Friday morning at 2.01AM AEST and tees up alongside David Skinns (ENG) and Kevin Yu (TWN).
