David Gudge, Mark Gudge, Matthew Boyle, Alan Newham, Jose Situlia, Iowane Ratawake and Imalka Barba Gunasekara will all have the opportunity to tryout for RV's blue squad.
Due to current restrictions, there's uncertainty surrounding when the players will have the chance to showcase their rugby skills.
"The Victorian Senior State Team were due to travel to South Australia to compete at the Australian Rugby Shield Tournament from September 30 to October 4," RV's Shelley Nowlan said.
"However, due to COVID-19 restrictions on interstate travel the Australian Rugby Shield was cancelled.
"Regardless of the competition being cancelled, we would still like to be able to select a team but of course, it is difficult to say when we will be in a position to do so as this process will require more trials and training sessions."
Last week it was confirmed the Miners' regular season had been cancelled due to the extension of COVID-19 restrictions.
The team was sixth on the RV Premiership Reserves competition ladder with a 5-1-5 record and primed for finals.
"Although Rugby Victoria considered several scenarios to play out the remaining games of the season, it has become apparent that it will not be possible in the current climate due to our key return to play dates passing with each lockdown extension enforced across the state," Rugby Victoria said in the announcement.
