The 18-year-old is fast closing in on his 50th win of the 2021 Victorian harness racing season following a strong finish to last week.
Sanderson managed to notch up four wins in three days from Thursday to Saturday, highlighted by his victory aboard Chissy for Kooreh (near St Arnaud) trainer Jason McNaulty at Saturday night's metropolitan meeting at Geelong.
A prolific patch for the teenager started with a double for Charlton trainer Joey Thompson with Clarenden Envoy and Cee Cee In America on their home track on Thursday, followed by a win with his father Shane Sanderson's horse Cutty Sark at Mildura on Friday night.
Those wins advanced Sanderson's season tally to 47 wins. and 71 placings, all of them achieved since the move from New South Wales in mid-March.
The ultra-talented teenager was at his best in steering the six-year-old trotting gelding Chissy to an all-the-way win at Geelong.
It continued a fruitful association for the star young driver with trainer McNaulty. after the pair combined for a Group 3 win in July at Melton with Travel Bug.
Sanderson, who drove Chissy for the first time the previous Saturday at Kilmore, believed the son of Danny Bouchea and Cheque Again had put the writing on the wall with his barnstorming second behind Flash Kyvalley after coming from four back on the pegs at the bell.
"He hit the line really good his last start and he came into this one with a bit of confidence," he said post-race.
"The race turned out really good for him. He got a few nice quarters at the start and he did it pretty easily in the end.
"He definitely had a bit left in him.
"He was probably a bit unlucky last week, if he was behind the leader he probably would have won.
"I got to know him a bit last week. I'm pretty happy with him."
Trained by David Van Ryn at Marong for the first 30 starts of his career, Chissy had three starts for Shaun McNaulty in 2020 before transferring to his brother Jason.
The consistent six-year-old has now won seven races and been placed 13 times for earnings of more than $55,000.
Meanwhile, Friday's success with Cutty Sark made it back-to-back wins for the Sandersons with the three-year-old gelding, who won on debut for the stable at Bendigo, on August 25.
His arrival at Charlton was preceded by three starts for his former trainer Ian Ward, with his best effort a second placing at Shepparton in July.
