In the latest figures released by the federal government, Bendigo is now ranked third in the state, trailing just behind Geelong and Warrnambool in first dose vaccinations.
Bendigo is also coming second in fully vaccinated residents with 43.1 per cent, just behind Geelong with 43.2 per cent.
In comparison, Ballarat have fully vaccinated 40.1 per cent of its residents and 61.1 per cent have received at least one dose.
It comes as Bendigo Health encourages more residents to book for their COVID-19 vaccinations.
Chairman Bob Cameron said in the past week 12,612 people under-40 years of age had registered to get a Pfizer vaccination, more than triple any other week so far.
Mr Cameron said Bendigo needs to show there's strong demand for more vaccines, so vaccines are not directed to other areas.
"So we want to make sure we can keep up demand so that we can get the vaccines and get them into people's arms," he said.
