THE Kyneton Football-Netball Club has employed a full-time manager to drive its whole-of-club vision and boost its professionalism.
Nikki Young has taken on the role, which will focus on supporting the club's committees, building sponsorship and membership, streamlining processes and implementing initiatives that the club has lacked the resources in the past to achieve.
"I have seen the club during some of its lowest periods, such as the year of senior football in hiatus in 2013, to now be a club that is truly something for all involved to be proud of," Young said at the weekend.
"I'm extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to work with the amazing cohort of people at the club.
"The vision they have to succeed both on and off the field will only benefit the club and our juniors, giving them the opportunity to see a club that values the commitment of building a local presence.

"Everyone is patiently waiting for the return of sport to its original form, none more so than our youngest community members and myself."
The appointment of Young to the manager's role comes after the club recently confirmed it had now cleared its $200,000 debt that threatened to cripple it three years ago.
"Our club is now in a position to employ Nikki, who will oversee all club communications and administrative functions for AusKick, junior football, netball, women's football, men's football and our all-abilities FIDA team," Kyneton president Hayden Evans said.
"This will help our club focus on taking our professionalism to the next level and implement processes and procedures that will set up the Kyneton Football-Netball Club into the future."
On-field, the 2021 Bendigo Football-Netball League season is now over for all Kyneton's teams except its under-18 footballers, which finished fifth on the ladder.
