Bendigo MP heads down aisle

Bendigo MP Jacinta Allan married fiancé Yorick Piper in a relaxed ceremony at the couple’s Sedgwick property on Saturday.The ceremony and reception were held on a deck overlooking the property’s dam.Ms Allan described the event as a “very relaxed country wedding”.“We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves,” she said.There were 150 guests and Ms Allan and Mr Piper had three attendants each, a combination of family and close friends.“Our seven-year-old niece and our one-year-old puppy were our flower girls,” Ms Allan said.The couple walked down the aisle together.A pregnant bride, Ms Allan said she was happy to “have the whole family there” for the ceremony.She is due in April and said the baby bump had made dress fittings a little difficult.Ms Allan wore a custom made ivory dress with a silver trim for the ceremony and a bright colourful dress for the reception. Mr Piper wore a baby blue suit. “It had its moments with dress fitting, but I had it made at Poppy’s and they fixed everything up at the last minute,” Ms Allan said.The newlyweds will enjoy “a week down the beach” for their honeymoon.
