Bendigo has just fallen to second place in the race to get vaccinated in the Victorian leaderboard but has reached a milestone of 50,000 jabs in 12 weeks.

A Bendigo Health spokesperson was pleased the Mollison Street Mass Vaccination Centre had reached the target.
"We encourage everyone who wants to get the vaccine to register via our website," they said.
The federal government's Geographic Vaccination Rates report released weekly revealed Warrnambool and the south-west region has moved in front of Bendigo in the Victorian leaderboard with 57.9 per cent of their population over 15 receiving their first dose.
Bendigo's population now sits at 57.4 per cent over 15 years receiving one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, a rise of 3.4 per cent in a week, and 33 per cent receiving two.
Geelong leads the second dose tally with 33.9 per cent of their population fully vaccinated.
Nationally, NSW's push to get their population vaccinated in the wake of their coronavirus outbreak has seen North Sydney and Hornsby region take top spot in the vaccine chart with 63.3 per cent of the population over 15 receiving their first dose and 37.2 per cent fully vaccinated.

The Victorian government announced on August 8 the AstraZeneca vaccine would open to people aged 18-39 in Mass Vaccination Centres, including Bendigo Health's Mollison Street Centre.
Premier Daniel Andrews has laid out an ambitious plan to get one million vaccines into the arms of Victorians over the next five weeks and pharmacies have been stocked with additional supplies of AstraZeneca.
