BULOKE Shire Council has welcomed three new members to its staff to provide practical support to businesses and community to maintain COVID-safe environments and compliance in accordance with state government requirements.

At the heart of these roles will be the provision of support, education and information to businesses on current and future COVID-19 restrictions as directed by the state government and actively engaging with businesses to establish and maintain COVID-safe practices.
The Business Concierge and Hospitality Support officers will be a resource to assist businesses with understanding the current information around COVID-safe practices, business check-in, ID checking, physical distancing, face masks as well as cleaning and sanitising.
Mayor Daryl Warren urged residents to shop local and is throwing his support behind these roles that will help ensure a safe environment for operators and customers.

"Council has been proactive during the pandemic in supporting businesses, it is again an important time to support our local operators in understanding how they can trade safely, with minimal disruption," he said.
"These roles will be well placed, with access to the latest information to ensure Buloke remains open safely when we are able to do so."
In an uncertain period of the pandemic, where the state has undergone snap lockdowns and experienced different restriction levels for regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne, it will be vital for local businesses to understand the importance of ensuring customers check-in correctly for contract tracing purposes as well as requesting ID when required.
