UFS Pharmacies, Bush's Produce Stores and Bunnings Epsom have together donated 190kgs of seed potato to be shared and planted with schools, community groups and keen home gardeners in Bendigo and surrounds.
Bendigo Foodshare's Grow a Row, Pick a Branch co-ordinator Nicole Porter said the initiative all about highlighting the important role we can all play in ensuring everyone has access to fresh and healthy food.
"We want to encourage as many schools, community groups and members of the public as possible to get out in the garden and grow potatoes," she said.

"We aim to share the 190kgs of potatoes with our community to grow and hope the harvest shared back with us will be double that amount.
"The Grow a Row: Potato drive is really important in fostering a culture of sharing food to help tackle food insecurity within the community."
Since the Grow a Row, Pick a Branch program began two years ago, Bendigo Foodshare has had thousands of kilograms of homegrown fruit and veggies donated to the organisation.
UFS Pharmacies chief executive Michael Fleming said the drive is an exciting launch to UFS Pharmacies new partnership with Bendigo Foodshare's Grow a Row, Pick a Branch program.
"To be able to support an organisation that has a powerful impact to those in food need and contribute to food security in our community is important to us," he said.
"We are excited to take part in the Potato drive and see our customers become budding potato growers."
The potatoes received from the drive will go towards providing food relief for those in need throughout the region.
To get involved with the potato drive, you can register and collect potatoes from any UFS Pharmacies store or Bush's Produce.
Members of the public who are unable to grow potatoes but have a veggie patch or fruit trees are also encouraged to donate their excess harvest to Bendigo Foodshare at any time during the year.
