Bendigo resident Amanda Carman lives near the intersection of Sandhurst Road and Nelson Street and said it had been a problem for a long time.

Ms Carman said the most recent crash, on Wednesday last week, had left her with a bad feeling in her stomach.
"I think there will need to be someone to get killed before something gets done to improve the intersection," she said.
"The most recent crash was one of the worst crashes I have seen. It gives you some shock, lucky everyone was okay but it could have easily been very different."
Ms Carman said the intersection needed a roundabout or traffic lights to help make it safer for drivers and residents.
"This road is often really busy and I am not sure what they can do but something needs to be done," she said.
"When you get more and more traffic coming in on the roads, you need something."
In March last year, another California Gully resident, Geoff Pelly, called for traffic control measures at the site.
"I've seen lots of near misses... and I've seen the aftermath of a lot of incidents," he said at the time.
Bendigo Highway Patrol Leading Senior Constable Scott Andrews said the intersection was a difficult one to cross during busy periods.
"This is a busy intersection and if you don't have to drive across it, people should maybe think about taking an alternative route," he said.
"This is a four-lane intersection that you have to get across, it can be difficult to get across at times."
Leading Senior Constable Andrews said waiting a few extra seconds when crossing the intersection could be life-changing.

Department of Transport Loddon Mallee director Melanie Hotton said the department would continue to work with the City of Greater Bendigo and closely monitor the Sandhurst Road and Nelson Street intersection.
"We are always saddened to hear of anyone injured on our road network - our thoughts are with everyone involved in this crash," she said.
"Safety is our number one priority, which is why we are constantly looking at ways we can ensure the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians."
Regional Roads Victoria said they continually monitor and inspect the network to ensure our roads are safe for the thousands of drivers who rely on them each day, including Sandhurst Road.
