The chestnut mare booked her spot in the $40,000 Group 3 Alabar Vicbred Platinum Mares Sprint Championship Final, to be run at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday, August 7, with a convincing heat win at Shepparton on Wednesday night.
Rising in class, Madam Reactor was brilliantly driven out in front by Bendigo's Jayden Brewin and was never troubled enroute to an emphatic 14.7-metre win over Changeover Girl, with Whata Glimpse a further metre back in third.
It continued a solid campaign for the daughter of Auckland Reactor and Madam Altissimo, who is owned and bred by Barac and his wife Laura, and has rarely put a foot wrong since returning to racing in April following a long spell.
Madam Reactor has since won twice and been placed on two other occasions from six starts.
Her first-up seventh at Lord's Raceway, when she was held up for a run, was the only time this campaign the mare has finished outside the top four placegetters.
Wednesday night's win made it back-to-back victories following her success in a NR up to 51 event at Echuca on July 15.
An excited Barac said he was thrilled with the mare's form this campaign and hoped there would be further improvement ahead.
"I put her out for a break for quite a long time and she had two or three months off, but this time she's come back a lot stronger and has improved a hell of a lot," he said.
"She's starting to learn what racing is all about. She's been learning for a long time, but finally she is getting there.
"We're happy to be in the final on Saturday week. She'll be up a bit in class, but if she draws okay and she can lead, they will soon find out that she is in the race.
"She was up in class last night (Wednesday), but I thought she'd go well.
"I looked at the Herald Sun in the morning and they tipped me to run seventh - not even in the top five.
"I had to go out into the yard and check if she still had four legs or three," he added with a laugh.
"She proved last night she's still got four."
With regular driver Michael Bellman engaged at Melton on Wednesday afternoon, Brewin climbed aboard for his second drive on Madam Reactor with great effect.
Barac expects the 21-year-old will retain the drive in next month's final.
"I didn't lose anything with Michael not being there - we had a plan going into the race and we executed it pretty right," he said.
"Michael sent me a message after the race to congratulate me, which was very nice.
"He has another horse in the final that he drives all the time, but it would have been hard to get back on after Jayden got the win."
Every bit as integral to the win was Barac's daughter Yvette Sait, who is the horse's strapper, and a cheery and regular presence around the stable.
Madam Reactor will be the trainer's first runner at Melton since Shebetterwin's fifth placing in the Vicbred Super Series (4YO Mares) Bronze Pace in July of 2016.
The four-year-old, who has won four of 33 career starts and been placed 10 times, is one of just two horses Barac currently has in work.
The other is her full sister Madam Auckland, who has recovered after being severely checked at Maryborough earlier this month in a race marred by injuries to David Miles and Richie Caruana after sickening falls from Miss Tyler and See You There.
