Despite the sunny start to the day in Bendigo, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a damaging wind warning for parts of central Victoria as a northerly airstream will strengthen during Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The northly winds are expected to reach gusts of up to 100 km/h with an average of 60 to 70 km/h.
The damaging northly winds are expected to develop about the north east ranges on Tuesday morning, then extend across western and central ranges during Tuesday afternoon.
The remainder of the warning zone - including Maryborough, Castlemaine and Kyneton - should expect damaging winds from Tuesday afternoon.
Damaging winds will tend westerly and continue about western, southern and northeastern Victoria during Wednesday.
Peak gusts are likely to increase to 110km/h during Tuesday evening across the eastern ranges with exposed alpine areas above 1500 metres estimated to reach up to 120 km/h late Tuesday.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should avoid travel if possible or safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater if driving conditions are dangerous.
People are advised to avoid floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees and check loose items around the house like umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured.
The SES has advised people to be stay indoors and away from windows and if outdoors stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks, waterways and fallen powerlines.
