And while a dangerous wind warning on Saturday put most residents on high alert, the Sunday morning chill brought a light dusting of snow to Mount Macedon.
The Top of the Range Tearooms' special snow cam came back to life to broadcast the flurries.
It is the second time this month that light snow has fallen on Mount Macedon.
While snow usually attracts dozens of people to the site, the Top of the Range Tearooms reminded people it was still closed due to last month's damaging storms.
In Bendigo, more than 10.8 millimetres of rain fell at the weekend. The temperature also remained below 10 degrees.
The wintery conditions are forecast to continue this week, with more rain and low temperatures expected.
