Up until last week's lockdown, Dragons had been hard at it on the ground training during 2021 preseason.
"It's all starting to rev up," Dragons president Thomas Prince said.
"We're getting pretty excited coming into this year as in 2020 we were one of the last sports to call it quits."
The Dragons haven't played within the state league since 2019 and will bring a new-look team to the field this year.
"We're seeing plenty of promising signs, especially with such high rookie recruitment this year in addition to plenty of return players."
Prince said the club was always looking for more players to join ranks, regardless of how much experience they have.
"The great thing about the sport is that it's so varied in the different skill-sets that are required," he said.
"Generally no experience required and we adapt what position works best for each player.
"It really is a great sport to come and try, it's worth having a go."

Prince, himself a player, will be back in action this year under the guidance of return coach Mike Hughes.
Hughes is a familiar face at the club as he coached the side from 2014-2016.
Meanwhile, two of the club's best players recently had the opportunity to represent Victoria at an inter-state clash with South Australia.
Ryan Pout and Darcy Young were named on the Victorian Eagles squad that competed against the South Australian Sharks in the Border Battle.
Eagles defeated the Sharks 16-8, with Young being named as the match defensive MVP and captain.
