Co-owner Ann Durie said she received a call from the Buloke Shire chief executive late Sunday night notifying her of the news.

Ms Durie said although it came as a shock, many team members expected it.

"We knew that a positive case had gone from Melbourne to Mildura," she said.

"We were thinking that he might have stopped by, it was a little bit of a shock but it was also expected."

Ms Durie said the bakery has remained closed since Thursday due to the lockdown.

It is the first exposure site in Wycheproof since the start of the pandemic.

Among the bakery, the Caltex Petrol Station in Ravenswood was also named a tier one site meaning anyone that has visited the venue on Sunday, July 11 between 12.45pm and 2.15pm must get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days.

The same guidelines are in place for visitors to the bakery on July 11 between 2pm and 3pm.

Ms Durie said all team members spent Monday isolating and being tested for coronavirus.

"We have all gone and had our tests this morning, no one is feeling sick, we are very hopeful that they will come back negative," she said.

"As a team at the bakery, we are all isolating even if they haven't worked, so that's about 12-14 of us.

"There were four of us on that afternoon so we will be isolating."

Ms Durie said thankfully the bakery had a strict stance on mask-wearing.

She believes this could be a wake-up call for many regional Victorians.

"We have a strict mask-wearing policy and if a customer doesn't have one, we send them back to their cars to get one," she said.

"It's a pain but it's important and we have the QR codes and sign-ins.

"With a small town like this, if someone does test positive, it would go through the town very easily, especially when you have an older population."

Taking to social media Sunday night to break the news to its customers, Ms Durie said she was immediately flooded with kind and positive messages.

"We have had amazing support from the local community and people that come to your bakery regularly," she said.

"People have been so supportive and they understand what the business has done for the town and there have just been some lovely messages to all the staff and it's very lovely and feels really good."
