A recent trip proved fruitful for Bendigo GC president Michael Tyndall who carded his fifth lifetime hole-in-one on the Rich River East Course's par-three 16th.
With an eight iron in hand, all the 14.3-handicapper (GA) needed was the one perfect swing.
No putter necessary.
"It was playing at around 125m and most of the group I was with all hit an eight iron," Tyndall said.
"My shot was on the right line all the way towards the pin.
"My first thought was it was definitely going to be close.
"Next thing I knew it just dropped straight in."
Tyndall finished the Par competition at -3, and due to the format, didn't reap the full benefits of the ace from what he would've in other formats
However, that didn't worry him. An ace is an ace.
The recent hole-in-one wasn't his first, not even close, the seasoned golfer has secured five in his lifetime at several different courses.
The first was on his home course at Bendigo on the bunker protected par-three 12th as a junior.
While on the road years ago on the Mornington Peninsula he scored another on Portsea Golf Club's notorious par-three second, better known as "The Bowl".
Tyndall's next two were both at home on the par-three 17th, followed by his recent golden strike at Rich River.
With such a great record, it won't be long before Tyndall hits another great iron shot to secure his sixth.
