YARD dog trials set for Bendigo have been postponed yet again, after the state's lockdown was extended further.
The State Yard Dog Championships had already been pushed back by a week, as they were due to take place on the first weekend of Victoria's snap lockdown, alongside Bendigo's Sheep and Wool Show.
Organisers now hope to run the State Yard Dog Championships in Heathcote on September 18 and 19.

Organiser Brian Leahy said the lockdown extension meant the coming Saturday was no longer practical, but heavy rains forecast would also have made the even difficult to run.
Mr Leahy said the hoped to run the championships in Heathcote as planned.
He said it was disappointing to postpone the event, but safety was the priority.

A BENDIGO event hopes to rise from the ashes after a lockdown forced its cancellation, with plans to seek Victoria's top dog in just a few days time.
Organisers of the State Yard Dog Championships hope they may be able to run their event on Saturday and Sunday, if lockdown eases for regional Victoria.
The championships normally run alongside the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, which was cancelled the the night before it was due to begin in Bendigo.

At the annual yard dog championships, working dogs compete in a course that resembles their daily farm work.
Organiser Brian Leahy said they ran the state championships each year to find Victoria's top dog, with regular smaller events around the state.
He said the competition was a chance for Bendigo people to see just what working dogs can do, while for farmers it was a chance to build on their skills.
Mr Leahy said it was a "longshot" but organisers hoped they might be able to pull the event off.
He said they group had left the yards set up at the showgrounds in the hope they would be able to run, but they could be forced to cancel.
Victorian went into a snap lockdown with just hours notice on Thursday night.

The restrictions are due to end at 11.59pm on Tuesday, but health authorities are yet to confirm if this will go ahead.
Premier Daniel Andrews has flagged that regional Victoria could leave the lockdown earlier than Melbourne, depending on how the outbreak developed.
