Bacchus Marsh Grammar will close for two days after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
The positive case follows an earlier announcement of seven new cases recorded in Victoria on Wednesday.
One locally acquired case was also recorded on Tuesday and confirmed on Wednesday morning.
The Age has reported two family members of the staff member also tested positive, bringing the total number of cases announced on Wednesday to 11.
The letter notes the staff member who tested positive has not been in contact with students in the past two days.
There will be no classes for students at Woodlea or Maddingley campuses on Thursday and Friday, with online learning to begin on Monday if a longer period of confinement is required.
Any students with symptoms should get tested as soon as possible.
"This is a fairly fluid situation and we will endeavour to keep parents informed of the situation as it develops as we have further information of any additional public health requirements," the statement reads.
"We are awaiting instruction from the Department on appropriate sanitation and cleaning of the school."
Remember to always maintain good hand hygiene, wear a mask when indoors, and keep a 1.5 metre distance from others at all times.
Anyone with the slightest symptoms is urged to get a test immediately, and must self-isolate until results come back - book online at bchc.org.au or phone 4311 1571 to make an appointment.
For more information, visit the Department of Health website, or phone the hotline on 1800 675 398 for advice if you are displaying symptoms.

We have been informed that a member of the teaching staff has tested positive for COVID-19. The teacher was at the School's Staff Day on Monday 12 July but has not been in contact with students on either Tuesday 13 July or Wednesday 14 July 2021.
As a result of this result all staff who were at the Staff Day on Monday 12 July have been directed by the COVID-19 Public Health Division Department of Health to isolate and be tested. We are awaiting instruction from the Department on appropriate sanitation and cleaning of the school.
Given the need for testing of virtually all staff and the need for additional cleaning, there will be no classes at the Woodlea or Maddingley Campus on Thursday and Friday 15-16 July for all students.
In the event of a longer period of confinement for staff, online learning would commence on Monday 19 July.
This is a fairly fluid situation and we will endeavour to keep parents informed of the situation as it develops as we have further information of any additional public health requirements.
At this stage, I would strongly advise that if any student does start to present with any of the recognised COVID symptoms they are tested as soon as possible as a matter of precaution.
