Hosts Paul van der Ploeg and Dieter Kahsnitz have filmed an episode of their show Trail Towns in and around Bendigo and the Goldfields region.
"I'm from Melbourne and have been to Bendigo so many times so to be able to film an episode doing what we love in somewhere so beautiful was fantastic," he said.
"The show is for couples and families, it's not just for hard-core mountain bikers, so we like to put something in there for everyone."
More stories:
Mr Kahsnitz said the pair visited a number of places such as Woodend, Daylesford, Heathcote and of course Bendigo.
"Paul actually had a bike race at the Bendigo velodrome with gold medalist Scott McGrory in the episode, we go to the Woodhouse restaurant and have the best steak I've ever eaten, and so much more," he said.
The episode also features the Axedale Tavern, the O'Keefe Rail Trail and the Central Deborah Goldmine.
"We did so much in the episode, it was amazing," Mr Kahsnitz said.
"The area just has so much going for it for everyone and we loved showcasing it.
"Before we came up with our name, the working title for the show was 'What can you do while we're riding?', so we're definitely trying to do that."
While familiar with the area, Mr Kahsnitz said the Bendigo region has a special place in his heart.
"I have a lot of friends from around here and I have a huge affection for Bendigo," he said.
"I'm a very passionate amateur historian and the history of this city is so fascinating to me.
"What we want to do with Trail Towns is not only show you where to ride, but a little bit of the history and culture along the way and Bendigo has a lot of that."
The episode will air on SBS on July 17 at 4pm.
