A WOMAN underwent surgery after sustaining head injuries resulting from falling from the second storey of a building in Wycheproof on Sunday morning.

Victoria Police Leading Senior Constable Darin Sheahan said the 25-year-old woman fell from the building on Broadway just after 2am on Sunday.

"As a result she was conveyed to Bendigo hospital and later taken to The Alfred hospital where she underwent surgery for head injuries," he said.
"The matter being is investigated by WorkSafe Victoria and the Buloke Shire."
A family member told the Bendigo Advertiser that the woman leaned on a railing, which gave way and resulted in the fall.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics were called to reports of a fall at 2.25am.
"Paramedics treated a woman believed to be in her 20s for upper body injuries," the spokesperson said. "She was taken by road to Bendigo Health and later flown by air ambulance helicopter to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition."
A WorkSafe Victoria spokesperson confirmed WorkSafe is making inquiries regarding the incident.
A Buloke Shire spokesperson said the shire is not investigating the incident but had been made aware of it by Wycheproof Police.
