COMMUNITY EVENTS
DANCING FUN
Enjoy an evening dance this weekend with the Spring Gully Dance Committee and a performance by Family Rhythm Dance Band.
This event, hosted by the committee, will also feature a supper of tea and coffee, sandwiches and slices all individually served (BYO if preferred).
All are welcome to attend. $9 entry.
Due to guidelines from the Coronavirus hotline, bookings are essential for Saturday night as numbers are limited. Masks must be worn.
The committee also hosts Monday evening dances that include CD music.

AWAKEN
Awaken - Bendigo brought to light is a COVIDsafe sensory night event taking place in Rosalind Park.
The free, ticketed event showcases Bendigo's history with radiant installations, displays of lasers, holograms and other sensory experiences.
The event will run for three weeks, giving visitors plenty of time to visit a session.
Rosalind Park will be fenced from 5pm every night with normal access during the day.

BENDIGO ARTHRITIS CLUB
The Bendigo Arthritis Club (Support Group for MSK - Musculoskeletal Australia) will hold its AGM with speaker, Buffy Squires, community program coordinator for Musculoskeletal Australia.
Buffy will share news and findings from recent MSK National Survey.
The group also conducts warm water exercises by trained leader at the John Lindell Pool (Anne Caudle Centre) and the Peter Krenz Pool, Eaglehawk on every Tuesday and Thursday.

DISCOVERING HISTORY
Desiree Pettit-Keating from Bendigo Regional Archives Centre will explore both bitter and sweet in the world of chocolate and confectionery across centuries in Victoria.
Desiree will be also be joined by Dr Emma Robertson from La Trobe University, author of Belles from Bournville and Beyond: Histories of Women Chocolate Workers in Australia and Empire, Women & Chocolate: A Social & Cultural History.
This event will include chocolate demonstrations and tastings from Hayley Tibbett of Indulge Chocolates and Chocolartiste, Sue Schrieber.

This event will feature psychics, mediums, tarot card readers, alternative health and wellbeing practitioners.

LUNCH AND CHAT
Join with others to enjoy a meal and a chat.
This social event is for those aged 55 and over, and will run every week on Tuesday. The social meeting has no joining fees.

ROBOT OLYMPICS
The Discovery Centre Bendigo is celebrating school holidays with Robot Olympics.
Robot Olympics explores coding as students participate in a series of challenges while controlling robots.
This event is suitable for those in grades three to six.
Sessions run for 90 minutes.

BATIK ART
Learn a new skill these school holidays with this Batik Art workshop.
Children aged between eight and 19 will have the chance to learn how to work with wax and dye to make colourful batik artwork.
Batik artist, Akhila Fernando, will introduce students to the tools, dyes and methods for making a batik artwork.
Morning sessions for eight - 12 year olds and afternoon sessions for 13-19 year olds.

EXHIBITIONS AND PERFORMANCES
OLYMPIC EXHIBITION
Rochester's Sports Museum is set to add to its array of sporting memorabilia with a one-off Olympic exhibition to coincide with the upcoming Tokyo Games.
The Olympic collection includes items on loan from past Olympians.
The permanent display will remain in the North room while this exhibition will be on show in the adjacent South room.
Australian cyclist Tim Decker has loaned his collection including uniforms, racing gloves, bike shoes, signed team jerseys and other items.
BMX rider Sam Willoughby has kindly loaned his 2016 medal winning BMX and helmet for the display. These items have been borrowed through the Australian BMX Museum.
Several items are unique including a line marker from the 1956 Melbourne Games and a Choir Outfit from the 2000 Sydney Games.
There will also be a cauldron from the 2000 Sydney torch relay.
Rochester's runners are also highlighted at the exhibition with an actual torch on display.

IN CONVERSATION
For decades renowned artist Melinda Harper has created abstract art across different mediums, including paintings, tapestries, ceramics and sculpture.
Recognisable for her understanding of colour placement, and in conjunction with the Castlemaine Art Museum's In Conversation series, Harper has selected a range of works from the collection to present in dialogue with her own.

MARY QUANT: FASHION REVOLUTIONARY
The Bendigo Art Gallery is presents Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary, an exhibition on the British fashion designer Dame Mary Quant.
The exhibition is on loan from the Victorian and Albert Museum in London and showcases the peak of Quant's career with never-before-seen fashion and radical designs.
The exhibition brings together more than 110 garments, along with accessories, sketches, photos and much more.

#PEREMPUAN 2021
#Perempuan 2021: Contemporary Indonesian Art is an exhibition that celebrates the unspoken stories of Indonesian women.
The works, selected from the Project Eleven Collection, explore activism and traditions through a broad range of art forms including painting, textiles, sculpture and installation.
