Mercy Health Bethlehem residents got into the spirit of Bring Your Dog to Work Day on Friday with a visit from three of the staff's furry friends.

Lifestyle assistant Sarah Nind brings her Pomeranian Poodle Paddy into the aged care facility weekly and made an additional trip with him on Friday.
"We used to have a program where we brought in Delta Dogs in but with the coronavirus pandemic we couldn't do that anymore," she said.
"I started bringing Paddy in when he was just a puppy and the residents really engaged with him and their past.
"Everyone always gets very excited to see him and call him over for a pat.
"It's a chance for people to bring up their past and talk about what their did with their past pets."

The home prides itself on being one of the most dog-friendly aged care homes in Australia and the residents love the interaction with the pups.
Carmel Grose was overjoyed to see Paddy.
"I've always loved dogs, even when I was a young child I used to fuss around when I saw a dog," she said.
"I had a lot to do with big dogs but I still like the little ones.
"I've always just been a dog lover and Paddy is a lovely little fella."
