Bonnie Therese Parker, 31, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Tuesday where she pleaded guilty to 10 charges including obtaining property by deception and theft.

The court heard on December 1 last year, Parker and a co-accused went to an East Bendigo supermarket.

The pair took a number of items valued at about $100 before leaving the store without paying.

Parker was arrested and questioned on March 8. The 31-year-old initially told police she could not recall the incident before saying her co-accused was the one who stole the items.

The court heard then on March 10, a Bendigo man reported his wallet as stolen to police. The wallet contained $50 in cash, bank cards, vouchers, and a driver's licence.

About 5.45pm that day, Parker collected the bank card from the intersection of Myer Street and Williamson Street in Bendigo.

She then used the card on eight separate occasions to purchase items from supermarkets, cafes, and liquor stores.

The court heard Parker spent close to $500 using the stolen bank card.

Police arrested and interviewed Parker on April 22. She made admissions to the offending.

The 31-year-old appeared in court on Tuesday after she was arrested on outstanding warrants late on Monday night.

Police found a small amount of cannabis in her handbag when she was intercepted in California Gully.

Defence lawyer Julia Breheny told the court Parker had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Ms Breheny said the 31-year-old had been living transiently for some time but now had stable accommodation available in Quarry Hill.

Magistrate Patrick Southey said Parker had previously been fined and sentenced to a community corrections order but nothing had stopped her from reoffending.

"Something has to change, you come here far too often," he said.

Mr Southey convicted and jailed Parker for seven days. He also handed her a $600 fine.

The magistrate said if Parker had not pleaded guilty, she would have been jailed for 14 days.

Ms Breheny said Parker would appeal the sentence in the County Court. She was released on bail ahead of her appeal.
