The 16-year-old boy was leaving a Children's Court on Tuesday afternoon when he allegedly spat at a security officer and punched a policeman in the face.
When court resumed a short time later, the teen's lawyer told the magistrate the 16-year-old had been arrested and remanded in custody.

The boy had been appearing in the Children's Court on charges stemming from a December 24 incident.
Police alleged the teen, an 18-year-old boy, and eighteen-year-olds Ava Slowik and Lincon Pearce deceived the victim into attending Ms Slowick's property.
It was alleged the group then took the victim out to bushland where they dragged her out of the car and left her on a dirt road alone, in the middle of the night.
The 16-year-old boy allegedly punched the victim shortly after telling her, "You're going to get rolled".
The 16-year-old boy's lawyer told the court the matter was expected to resolve, with the teen likely to plead guilty to one charge of carjacking.

The 18-year-old boy's lawyer said the prosecution rejected the defence's offer of a plea to the same charge of carjacking.
The lawyer said the matters would need to go to a contest hearing in September unless they could be resolved at an earlier date.
Ms Slowik and Mr Pearce appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for a committal hearing.
The magistrate was due to decide whether the charges needed to be sent to the County Court.
But Ms Slowik and Mr Pearce's lawyers told the court they had accepted a plea deal from the prosecution.
The pair is due to return to the Bendigo Magistrates' Court later this month where they will plead guilty to one charge of carjacking.
