Bendigo Lifeblood spokesperson Shae Burns said as an essential service, the donation sites would remain open this week.
"We're definitely open and we need donors," she said. "It's a great reason to leave your house and it's a really good feeling afterwards when you know you've helped save lives."
Sunday was Bendigo Plasma Power Day, with the service encouraging residents to come out and donate plasma.
"Blood donation is the red part of your blood, which you can donate once every three months," Ms Burns said.
"Plasma is the yellow part that you can donate as often as every two weeks. Plasma is full of important proteins and nutrients that protect us."
Ms Burns said the demand for plasma was at an all-time high because plasma products were being used to treat more conditions.
"We're lucky enough in Australia to have a healthcare system that gives us access to them," she said.
Ms Burns said besides saving lives, donating blood was great because you received treats like party pies and cookies at the end of your donation.
"Don't rule yourself out," she said. "I really encourage people to find out if they are eligible and book in to donate.
"You can call 13 14 95, visit donateblood.com.au, or download the Donate Blood app."
