POLICE say a 64-year-old man is "lucky" to escape injury after the truck he was driving tipped over in Long Gully.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Creeth Street about 10.43am on Saturday.
Bendigo Highway Patrol Leading Senior Constable Niall King said the driver had been transporting apples from Melbourne when the truck's load shifted and the semi-trailer toppled over.
"We have a number of witnesses that have indicated he wasn't speeding," Leading Senior Constable King said.
"It's just one of those things that happen. The driver has undergone all of our testing and there's no issues there.
"He won't be getting any infringements as a result of this."
Leading Senior Constable King said paramedics assessed the 64-year-old but he did not need to be transported to hospital.
"He just has a scratch on his arm," he said. "He's a bit shaken up. He has no injuries even though the cab's been completely crushed - he's a lucky boy."
Leading Senior Constable King said Creeth Street would be closed to traffic for about three or four hours to allows crews to tow the truck and clean up the apples.
"It's not bad at the moment, but if you leave 15 tonnes of apples there it will turn into something yucky for the people living around here," he said.
