La Trobe University confirmed the changes would be in force for the next seven days in line with the state government advice.
"All teaching at La Trobe University's Bundoora and regional Victorian campuses in Bendigo, Shepparton, Albury-Wodonga, and Mildura will return to remote learning for the next seven days," a spokesperson said.
"Students will receive specific advice around their subjects, including any arrangements for exams.
"For those students who cannot study at home, some on-campus study spaces will be provided.
"This will be in libraries and other designated rooms. Additional cleaning of these rooms will be undertaken."
The La Trobe spokesperson said there would be no face-to-face services in the campus libraries.
"All student support services will be available remotely during the lockdown and will return to face-to-face operations as soon as possible, consistent with public health directions," the spokesperson said.
