Bendigo Health chief executive Peter Faulkner said he became aware of the possible exposure sites late Tuesday.
"We have had our public health team and staff doing contact tracing throughout the night," he said.
"Additionally we have popped up some extra testing resources for close contacts and we tested a number of those people last night.
"Not all test results are back at this point; the results that have come back at this point have been negative.
"We are treating this extremely seriously."
Mr Faulkner said there was every possibility there could be more exposure sites.
"I certainly encourage everybody to keep a close eye on the news, to visit the DHHS website," he said.
"We know at the Axedale Tavern there were in excess of 100 people isolating and our contact tracing team has been working through that.
"We do know that there were 100 people there and they will have close contacts and so we will just work through the people."

Mr Faulkner urged residents to get tested if they developed any symptoms.
"We have done this before and as Victorians we have done this and we know what we need to do," he said.
"We need to do all those sensible health practices.
"We will continue our contact tracing effort and our testing and our vaccination efforts and we will do all we can to ensure our community is safe."
